Kings Lynn

The 40,000 strong town of King’s Lynn has a long history of trade and has a collection of buildings reflecting its commercial past.

Nikolaus Pevsner in his building of Britain series described the Custom House as “one of the most perfect buildings ever built”.

At the quay, in front of the Customs House is a statue of explorer George Vancouver, who the Canadian city is named after.

The Hanseatic Warehouse was used for trade through the networks of the Medieval Hanseatic League and is the only one of its kind in England.

Other buildings like the Town Hall, Trinity Guildhall, Clifton House, the Corn Exchange and the South Gate are all worth a closer look. You can find out more here
